Batik is a complex method of dyeing fabric using a removable wax resist method. Liquid hot wax is applied to fabric using batik blocks, canting pens, brushes, or other tools. The fabric and wax are dyed or painted, and then the wax is removed, revealing a pattern in the fabric. In this batik workshop, you will learn the process of designing and making batiks, from applying liquid hot wax with various tools, applying dyes, and setting color. At the end, you will take home your own personalised Batik Boutique product.
